Event Marketing Specialist I
**General Description**
Responsible for the overall management, planning, and completion of marketing projects on a wide variety of events. Work with vendors to develop project scope of event planning and milestone deliveries. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: budget management and contract negotiation for developer event sponsorships. Uses project and event management skills to manage event logistics and execution, define project deliverables, provide leadership and supervision of brand ambassadors at various events. Ensures effective communications and relationships between cross functional team members. Be able to multi-task and execute multiple events simultaneously.
**Necessary Skills / Attributes**
* Works as the lead Project Manager for developer marketing campaigns from promotion to conclusion of the events.
* Negotiate sponsorship contracts from start to finish and makes the final decision on the contract rates
* Recommends events to sponsor within the Developer Connection budget.
* Maintains budget management per defined budget for Developer Connection developer events.
* Works with appropriate team members to develop event scope, event training document and project plans.
* Be able judge when to escalate issues and risks.
* Proposes new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
* Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters and has discretion and decision making ability to resolve any event-related matters.
* Manage on-site production and wrap-up for events as necessary.
* Lead and manage (supervisor for) brand ambassadors at various events.
* 25% Domestic Travel to support industry events. Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree preferred
* Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and Interns.
* Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
* Ability to accomplish projects with little to no supervision.
* Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
* Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and mail merges; email and web searches
